Longboard - Bridge 4

Based on the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. The top is the in-book glyph which stands for "Freedom" and was designed with Inkscape, so it could be laser cut. The bottom of the board is the glyph for an in-book organization, "Bridge 4." In this project I found out that grit tape is very flammable when being cut with a laser cutter. The bottom design was hand sketched, filled in with colored pencils, and covered with sealant.

Longboard - Inspectre (Riley Hester)

A skateboard customized for a friend. The top of the board has logos from the band Coheed & Cambria and uses clear grit tape to allow the images to be visible. The bottom of the board is a character the same friend had created. My friend now refuses to ride the skateboard for fear of ruining it.

Longboard - Faith

My first attempt at a longboard design was before I knew how to use a laser cutter. Needless to say I went through many, many razor blades and Band-Aids.

Bridge 4

This is another personalized version of the Bridge 4 glyph from Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive. It was designed with Inkscape, using the original design as a reference.

PKI-IEEE Logo

My college's Student Branch of IEEE was known as "PKI-IEEE" (Peter Kiewit Institute-Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). We needed a logo for our organization. Since the "I" in PKI and the "I" in IEEE both stood for "Institute" I decided to combine the letters I into a single letter split down the middle. Once again, Inkscape was used for the design.

9 Parts of Desire Stage

For a theatre class in college, we had to make a stage for the play, "9 Parts of Desire."
Most students used clay, cardboard cutouts, or made sketches.

The computer nerd in me couldn't pass up the opportunity to try my hand at 3D-Animation. I designed each component using Sketchup, which I was already familiar with, and imported them to Blender for the animating portion.
