Hexapod Robot

The hexapod robot project was a two-person project for a college course. I worked predominantly on chassis design using dimensions similar to open source designs found online. The chassis was laser cut from lightweight wood and was designed using adobe illustrator. Some parts, like motor mounts, were 3-D printed and designed with Fusion 360. The robot was controlled with a Beagle Bone Black running a ROS program.

Testing the Robot Control

The first successful movement of a hexapod leg.

_______________

NOTE

Successful here means that a limb didn't hit the the underside of the chassis so hard that it snapped.

Because that happened.

More than once.

IT'S ALIVE!!

This is the hexapod's first successful attempt at scuttling along the ground.
